BENTELER employees in Corby (UK) raise £2,000 in donations for the benefit of 'The Children's Air Ambulance' charity

Corby, 18. September 2017. BENTELER Automotive Corby engages with the community and now raises £2,000 for the benefit of 'The Children's Air Ambulance' charity. The employees acquired this amount with the help of donations from suppliers, customers and the local business community at the plant’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

BENTELER Automotive UK Ltd celebrated its 20th anniversary this summer. The plant, located in Baird Road, Corby, opened its doors to family and friends to take a look at the state-of-the-art robotic welding lines, test their skills in the on-site training centre, and thoroughly enjoy various fun activities across the site.

A raffle for the benefit of 'The Children's Air Ambulance' was one of many highlights of the day. Suppliers, customers and the local business community had generously donated fabulous prizes and £2,000 was raised for the benefit of the charity.

'The Children's Air Ambulance' fly critically ill children across the UK to the specialist care they need. Their helicopters serve as a flying intensive care unit and can deliver children to safety approximately four times faster than transport by road. The Children's Air Ambulance is entirely funded by donations; they do not receive any government funding.

Since its opening in Corby 20 years ago, BENTELER Automotive has actively sought to engage with the local community, mainly through collaboration with schools and colleges. A recent mentoring project at Lodge Park Academy helped students achieve 3rd place in a national Science and Engineering competition.

“Sustainable economic growth and social responsibility go hand in hand”, explains Darren Jackson, Plant Manager Corby.
