Benteler Automotive acquires the Norwegian company FAC

Farsund/Paderborn/Salzburg, September 2012. – Benteler Automotive, Paderborn, Germany, has taken over the Norwegian company Farsund Aluminium Casting AS (FAC). FAC is a supplier of aluminum low-pressure die castings for the automotive industry. The company was founded in 1996 and currently employs a workforce of about 200 people. In 2011 the annual turnover was 38 million euros.

With the acquisition of FAC, Benteler Automotive wants to expand the know-how in the aluminum sector and lightweight construction by including the key technology of cast aluminum. This shall make a joint effort to use in creating innovative solutions and aluminum solutions for the customers. The FAC product lines of front and rear knuckles, chassis sub frames, and trailing arms are an ideal match to the Benteler Automotive product range.

Its Benteler Automotive division with 22,000 employees at 20 engineering and sales offices and 74 plants in 29 countries develops and produces ready-to-install modules, components and parts for bodies, chassis and engines to enhance safety, the environment and efficiency.
